October 2026 Release | Design Team Inspiration
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in my craft room, and the October release from Scrappy Boy Stamps has me feeling especially festive!
From high-kicking holiday cuties to movie-inspired Christmas fun and the sweetest little gingerbread character, this release is filled with creative possibilities.
Today, I’m sharing three of my latest Scrappy Boy Stamps Design Team projects. Each one highlights a different way to combine stamps, dies, colorful cardstock, and the finishing touches that make handmade projects so special.
Whether you’re creating Christmas cards, gift tags, or something a little outside the box, I hope these projects inspire you to pull out your supplies and enjoy some crafty time!

🎄 Project 1: Good Girls Kick High!
Holiday High Kicks — Shake Your Tinsel!

We’re kicking things off with holiday sparkle, playful details, and a whole lot of personality!
For my first project, I used the Holiday High Kicks Stamp & Die Set to create a festive Christmas card featuring one of the adorable dancers from this month’s release. I used a clay candy cane accent, glued it down and coated with the Crystal Effects glaze. It looks like real candy with that shine!
The playful sentiments in this collection are some of my favorites, especially “Good Girls Kick High” and “Shake Your Tinsel!” They’re perfect for sending Christmas cheer with a wink and a smile.
I began with a traditional red, green, and white color palette, layering stitched rectangles over cheerful holiday patterned paper decorated with wrapped presents and greenery.
The little dancer takes center stage, colored with my Copic markers and finished with touches of gold sparkle. A dimensional candy cane embellishment, colorful enamel dots, and peppermint candies add even more festive detail. The peppermints are clay shaker bits glued down and coated with Crystal Effects.
Copic Coloring Combinations
- Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04
- Hair: E23, E25, E27, E29
- Red clothing: R14, R17, R27, R29, R39
- Green clothing: YG03, YG17, YG67, G28
- Black details: C3, C5, C7, C9
- Gold accents: Y11, Y15, Y17, Y28 (Stickles on top)
- Cheeks: R20, R30 (white gel pen)
A stitched circle sentiment completes the design while introducing another fun shape to the layered composition.
Crafty inspiration: Don’t be afraid to mix different stitched shapes. Rectangles and circles work beautifully together, adding dimension and visual interest without overwhelming your stamped images.
And who says Christmas cards can’t have a little attitude?
🎬 Project 2: Now Showing… Christmas Cheer!
A Little Movie Magic with a Holiday Twist

Lights, camera, Christmas!
For my second project, I brought a little movie-inspired holiday magic to the craft table. Using the Marquee Sign dieset along with the Ticket dieset, I created a festive and playful movie theater scene with a cheerful Christmas twist.
The marquee takes center stage with its coordinating fonts for a bold “NOW SHOWING” title, while three familiar-looking holiday characters peek out from the screen.
And that little sentiment, “ELF MADE ME DO IT,” just makes me smile! Each letter is coated with Crystal Glaze for added dimension and shine.
To reinforce the theater theme, I layered golden movie tickets, overflowing popcorn boxes, and colorful candy embellishments around the marquee. Gold accents and sparkly details give the card a fun, nostalgic movie-night feel. Circles either cut or diecuts, colored up and an “M” with white gel pen to represent candies that melt in your mouth, not in your hands!🙌
I especially love how the elements overlap, creating plenty of dimension and movement throughout the design.
Copic Coloring Combinations
- Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04
- Brown hair: E21, E23, E25, E27
- Black hair & details: C3, C5, C7, C9
- Red clothing: R14, R17, R27, R29
- Green clothing: YG03, YG17, YG67, G28
- Yellow details: Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17
- Popcorn: YR20, YR21, YR23 Stickles & White Gel Pen
- Gold accents: Y11, Y15, Y17, Y28
Crafty inspiration: Try building a card around a theme instead of relying on a traditional layout. Movie tickets, popcorn, candy, and a marquee make this card feel like a miniature holiday movie experience!
This would be such a fun card to pair with a movie gift card or a family Christmas movie-night basket.
🍪 Project 3: Oh, Snap! It’s Gingerbread Time!
A Sweet Little Christmas Gift Tag

Is there anything sweeter than a gingerbread cutie dressed for Christmas?
For my third project, I stepped away from the traditional greeting card and created a festive gift tag using the Gingerbread Man Pop Up Envelope Add On Dies from the October release.
I love finding ways to stretch my dies beyond their original purpose, and this adorable gingerbread character was just begging to become a Christmas tag!
I layered the gingerbread character onto a red stitched tag base, then added a cheerful Santa hat, a bright green bow tie, and a red banner featuring sparkly silver “MERRY” lettering.
The white icing details really pop against the warm gingerbread-colored cardstock, while the rosy cheeks and glossy eyes bring this sweet character to life.
Copic Coloring Combinations
- Gingerbread: E31, E33, E35, E37, E39 (airbrushed over kraft cardstock)
- Santa hat: R14, R17, R27, R29, R39 (airbrushed over lighter red cardstock)
- Green bow tie: YG03, YG17, YG67, G28 (white gel pen accents)
- Rosy cheeks: R20, R30 on white with gel pen
- White icing shadows: C00, C0, C1 and covered with Crystal Stickles
- Silver details: Glitter Cardstock
- Black eyes: C7, C9 with Crystal Glaze
A bit of green-and-white baker’s twine finishes the tag and makes it ready to attach to a special Christmas gift.
Crafty inspiration: Think beyond cards! Character dies can decorate gift bags, tags, treat boxes, scrapbook pages, and even handmade ornaments.
And those little white gel pen highlights? They’re one of my favorite ways to give die-cut characters extra personality!
❤️ Handmade Holidays, Happy Hearts & Small Businesses
These projects are a reminder of what I love most about paper crafting: a few pieces of cardstock, some stamps, and a little imagination can become something truly meaningful.
You don’t have to be a professional artist to create something beautiful. Sometimes, the best part of crafting is simply sitting down, trying something new, and enjoying the process.
That’s what crafting is all about for me: a little creative therapy with paper and the joy of sharing it with crafty friends!
I’m also a strong believer in supporting the small businesses that make our creative hobbies possible.
Companies like Scrappy Boy Stamps bring us unique stamps, coordinating dies, patterned papers, and clever interactive products that inspire us to keep creating.
When you shop small, you’re supporting the people behind those designs and helping keep our crafty community thriving.
