From Coffee Breaks to Happy Hour: Creativity Around the Clock!

From coffee breaks to Friday at five! ☕⌚ I’m sharing two fun cards featuring the September Scrappy Boy Stamps release, including a realistic faux-leather watchband made entirely from cardstock and an office-inspired design full of personality. Discover creative techniques, playful sentiments, and inspiration for stretching your crafty stash!

Scrappy Boy Stamps | September 2026 Release

Hello, crafty friends!

Who says work and play can’t go hand in hand? Today I’m sharing my last two Design Team projects featuring products from the September 2026 Scrappy Boy Stamps release, since the October 2026 release is just around the corner! One celebrates the magic of Friday at five, while the other reminds us that a little coffee can solve just about anything! Sentiments on both cards and the images of the a couple on the one card all from the Professionally Unhinged stamp set.

What I love most about this release is how versatile the products are. Whether you’re creating for a coworker, celebrating a birthday, or just making someone smile, there are so many possibilities.

It’s Friday at Five Somewhere!

First up is my watch-inspired card featuring the fabulous Watch Shaker Die Set.

I created a layered design using Scrappy Boy’s Little Dog 6×9 blue patterned papers, stitched rectangular panels, and a classic brown-and-gold watch combination. The warm metallic finish and distressed-looking watchband add a little sophistication, while the sentiment brings all the fun! I cut the metal pieces out of a frosted gold card stock versus a glitter or shiny metallic. It’s all personal preference.

From Cardstock to Leather — A Little Paper Magic! ⌚

  • Choose cardstock: Use kraft-colored, medium- to heavyweight cardstock.
  • Dampen: Lightly mist with water—do not soak.
  • Crumple: Form a tight ball, unfold, and repeat several times.
  • Dry: Let the wrinkled cardstock dry completely.
  • Ink: Apply Distress Ink over the surface to highlight the creases. The darker brown distress ink that gets into the wrinkles, and the stitched cuts from the die, actually look like fabric stitches once dry. I actually took E13 and E25 of my Copic markers to accentuate some areas for added interest.
  • Distress: Add white gel-pen streaks and gently smudge them. I love how the white ink bleeds into the small wrinkles that you created when crumbling the paper. Make sure that you smear that ink when it is wet because the more messy, the more natural it looks versus planned markings.
  • Die-cut: Cut the watchband shape from the Watch Shaker Die Set with a die-cutting machine.
  • Finish: Smooth the edges and add holes, fasteners, or other details.

Result: A weathered, leather-like watchband made from cardstock. ❤️

“Celebrate Like It’s Friday At 5”

I especially love how the watch becomes the focal point of the entire card. And here’s a little crafty reminder: just because a die is designed as a shaker doesn’t mean you have to use it that way! Sometimes a beautiful dimensional embellishment is all you need.

Coffee Solves Most Problems!

Next up is a little workplace humor featuring the Professionally Unhinged and Working Hard-ish collection.

I combined two adorable characters inspired by a couple we grew to love, with a bold geometric patterned background and layered geometric die-cut frames.

Copic Coloring Combinations

I had so much fun coloring these two adorable characters! There’s just something about a cute stamped image and a little coffee inspiration that makes me smile. I stamped both characters using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and reached for my Copic Sketch Markers to bring them to life. I wanted to keep their coloring soft and cheerful, with warm peachy skin tones, rich brown hair, and beautiful shades of blue for their outfits. I especially love how the little details, from his coffee cup to her tiny notepad, give each character so much personality!

I love the dimension created by the overlapping frames and circular elements. They give the card plenty of movement without overwhelming the stamped characters.

This is such a fun collection for creating cards for coworkers, friends, supervisors, or anyone who appreciates a little workplace humor.

Stretch Your Stash and Think Outside the Box

One of my favorite things about paper crafting is discovering new ways to use products I already own.

Before adding something to my collection, I like to imagine at least three different ways I could use it. These projects are great examples of how patterned papers, basic layering dies, sentiment banners, and specialty dies can work together to create something completely different.

Don’t be afraid to mix collections, experiment with unexpected color combinations, or use a specialty die without its intended interactive feature.

It’s TIME to GET WILD! This week’s Scrappy Boy Stamps Design Team project combines a little safari adventure, a little mouse-inspired magic, and a whole lot of die-cutting fun!

One of my favorite things about Scrappy Boy Stamps is finding unexpected ways to combine products from different collections. Just because a die was designed for one project doesn’t mean it can’t become something completely different!

And that’s exactly what happened with this card!

🌿 A Little Safari Adventure

The stars of this card are the adorable safari hats created with the Mouse Safari Hat Embellishment Die. I cut two hats using warm brown cardstock, added green glittery hatbands, and finished one with a red polka-dot bow. Ears cut out from solid black cardstock.

For the background, I used leafy green patterned paper from Scrappy Boy’s Cute Capybara 6×9 Paper Pack. It’s a great reminder that themed paper collections can work beautifully for projects beyond their original theme.

I added black cardstock strips for contrast and red patterned ticket strips along the top and bottom to frame the card.

⌚ Time to Get Wild!

Of course, every safari adventure needs a little good timing!

I used Scrappy Boy’s Watch Shaker Die Set to create the dimensional watch on the right side of my card. I layered the pieces in warm golden tones with red accents and a white clock face. The spotted pattern is from the 6 x 9 Faux Fur Paper Pack.

Then I reached for the alphabet letters included with the World’s Best Mug Die Set to create my sentiment:

I love how the oversized letters follow the curves of the safari hats. A few white gel pen highlights and some sparkle were the finishing touches.

The Ticket Strip Embellishment Die added another fun element. Those little ticket shapes aren’t just for tickets! They also make great decorative borders.

Happy Monday, crafty friends! Today I’m sharing three playful projects featuring Scrappy Boy stamps and dies, with many of the layers and pieces adhered using dry adhesive from TapeRunner.com.

☕ Surviving One Monday at a Time

“Powered by Coffee & Deadlines” pretty much sums up Monday! Soft rainbow sentiment blocks, a clipboard-carrying character, and a crisp black frame bring this card together.

The main panel is actually a one layer card and gives the illusion of depth and dimension with simple shadows. I incorporated a pop of color by adding a simple rectangle mat with decorative stitched edge. I still enjoy having layers for a nice substantial weight on my card fronts, as well as the polished look of matting your one-layered panels by using a stitched nested rectangle die to give a small black border/frame and little added interest. 

🌼 Packed with Peace & Personality

Turquoise, yellow, purple flowers, and sparkly peace signs give this smiling Vintage Van Back Pack Add-On plenty of flower-power personality!

The Vintage Van Backpack Add-On Die Set pairs with the Backpack Base Die Set, sold separately. The additional flowers were from the sweet rabbit backpack add-on set already in my stash.

The add-on pieces also work on other shapes! I’ve successfully used these sets with standard A2 bases, coffee cups, trash bins, and other standalone dies from Scrappy Boy’s collection.

🦇 Ear-resistibly Spooky

A familiar round-eared friend gets a fang-tastic makeover! Bat wings, torn HEX APPEAL PATTERNED PAPER layers, and cheeky sentiments make this Halloween card more sweet than scary.

  • Details: Black, purple, and orange layers; spiderweb paper; white highlights; and “Nice Fangs!,” “EEK!,” and “Bite Me!” sentiments.
  • I love how Scrappy Boy’s pattern paper has a substantial weight and luxurious feel and gloss coating. When torn towards you, there’s a white core, which is very beneficial when wanting to create added movement and texture on your cards without added bulk.
  • Copics: Face E000/E00/E11; cheeks R20/R22; mouth R14/R24/R29; shaded black details C5/C7/C9. Leave the fangs white! Add white gel pen accents.

From Running Late to Clocking In: Four Projects from Scrappy Boy’s Latest Release

From running late to clocking in, these four Scrappy Boy projects are ready for a little adventure! I’m sharing the details, products used, and Copic color combos behind each one.

A rabbit with a clock, a watch in New York, and a few unforgettable coworkers—Scrappy Boy’s latest release gave me so many stories to tell! I made four separate projects, each with its own personality. I hope they inspire you to mix new products with the Scrappy Boy favorites already in your craft room.

A Little Late? 🐰

That built-in clock makes this bunny backpack feel ready for an adventure down the rabbit hole! I had fun coloring the bunny and adding little white accents to the blue backpack. New York Minute ⌚🏙️

The new watch shaker die was a natural companion to Scrappy Boy’s NY Skyline Die Set, as we recognize the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 this year.

For this card, I paired Scrappy Boy’s new Shaker Watch Die with the New York skyline, their 1920’s Elegance bold patterned paper, stitched nested circle dies and a few bright accents.

I used a Spinner from my stash to make the arms on the watch-face rotate.

The workplace background stamp sets the scene for an office full of familiar little details. I kept the red, black, and white palette running through the whole card, from the chairs to the banner. I used elements from the coordinating paper pack to add visual interest and tie the stamp-set together.

Building Theme Park Fun with the NEW 3D Main Street Bin Builder

Create a colorful 3D Main Street Bin with Scrappy Boy Stamps! See how I used mouse-head dies to create dimensional building-brick details, plus my Tape Runner adhesive tips.

If you know me, you know I love taking a new die and finding a way to make it completely my own! For my latest Scrappy Boy Stamps Design Team project, I played with the NEW 3D Main Street Bin Builder, and this one was way too much fun. ❤️💛💙💚

Living here in Central Florida, I’m surrounded by theme-park inspiration, so I combined two things that immediately say FUN to me—bright building-brick colors and cute mouse-inspired details!

The 3D Main Street Bin Builder creates such a fun dimensional project, and I love that the PUSH flap actually opens!

For my version, I cut blocks of brightly colored cardstock to create the look of building bricks. But flat bricks weren’t enough. They needed studs!

Creating My Dimensional Bricks

Instead of traditional round studs, I reached into my Scrappy Boy stash and used tiny mouse-head dies from the Mouse Pizza Builder Die and Mouse Bumper Die Set.

I cut them from coordinating cardstock and added them to each colored section for dimension.

And yes…there are A LOT of tiny mouse heads. 😂 Totally worth it!

Of course, all those little pieces needed adhesive! My Tape Runner made quick work of assembling the bin, adding the cardstock panels and attaching all those tiny dimensional details.

I kept the sides relatively simple so the colorful front could be the star. I also love seeing how this project comes together from the inside—it’s amazing what a few pieces of cardstock can become!

Spooky Cute with the Scrappy Boy Stamps August Release! 🦇🎃

Get spooky cute with the Scrappy Boy Stamps August Release! I’m mixing stamps, dies, paper and a little unexpected inspiration to create Halloween projects filled with dimension, personality and fun—including a special treat box made for my grandson and one of our favorite Halloween traditions. 🎃🦇✨

If you know me, you know I LOVE finding unexpected ways to use my crafty supplies! Sometimes a stamp or die may have been designed with one idea in mind, but I immediately start thinking, “What else can I turn this into?” And living in Central Florida, it probably comes as no surprise that a little theme park inspiration frequently sneaks into my craft room!

For these projects, I pulled out some of the spooky-cute goodies from the Scrappy Boy Stamps August Release and gave them my own magical Halloween twist.

“Have a Wicked Good Time” Gothic Picture Frame card

The Gothic Picture Frame Die was perfect for framing one of the adorable images from Hex Appeal. I kept the traditional Halloween palette of purple, black, orange and white, adding little pops of sparkle to the spiderweb details. I love how the oversized frame makes the stamped image feel like a spooky portrait hanging inside a haunted mansion.

Mouse Bat card — “You’re the Treat I Was Hoping For

Then came those Mouse Bat Embellishment Dies! These were just begging for some theme park-inspired fun. I played with layers, patterned papers, torn edges and white gel-pen accents to create two completely different Halloween cards.

The dimensional bat ears make such a fun focal point, especially when paired with those classic Halloween colors. I especially love how differently the same basic die can look simply by changing the background, composition and embellishments.

And I couldn’t stop there!

The Pumpkin Mouse Backpack Add-On became the star of one of my favorite projects. Instead of treating it simply as a backpack element, I transformed that big pumpkin into a dimensional Halloween centerpiece and paired it with plaid and spiderweb papers. A little tissue paper and some fun halloween treats and gift cards and you have a decorative, heartfelt gift and memory holder once emptied.

Lots of ink blending, deep shadows, white gel-pen highlights, lovingly put together with my hand-held adhesive from Tape Runner and a little shimmer helped bring all of those layers to life. The close-up really shows how much dimension and texture can be added to simple paper die cuts.

This treat box is especially close to my heart because I created it for our grandson, Nolan, as we prepare for our second annual visit to the Mouse’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the theme park, a tradition that combines celebrating his birthday with officially kicking off the Halloween season here in Central Florida!

I personalized the back with his name and even pulled in the castle die from a previous Scrappy Boy Stamps release, which was the perfect way to add another little touch of magic. I love mixing pieces from different releases and finding completely new ways to use them, but even more, I love knowing that this project will become part of another special memory with our grandson. 🎃🏰🧡

Finally, I had to play with the Haunted House Folio. I went for an eerie-but-cute abandoned mansion look with weathered grays, soft lavender, glowing golden windows, bats, spiderwebs, a pumpkin and even a creepy little hand reaching up from below. It was easy to position and adhere the smaller pieces with my hand-held Tape Runner. This project has so many tiny details to discover!

That’s probably my favorite part about crafting: the dies give you the pieces, but your imagination gets to decide what they become.

I hope these projects inspire you to pull out your supplies and look at them a little differently. Mix collections. Change the intended theme. Add unexpected colors. Turn an embellishment into the focal point. Most importantly, have fun creating something that’s completely you.

Today I’m featuring the Haunted House Folio Die from the August Release from Scrappy Boy Stamps, and this one was SO much fun to create!

I love a die set that gives you plenty of room to make it your own, and this haunted house definitely delivers. I created two completely different looks to show just how versatile it can be.

For my first version, I went with a classic Halloween palette of deep purple, black, gray and bright spooky green. I added texture to the house panels and layered all of those fabulous little details—the bats, spiderweb, ghost, creepy hand, fence, pumpkin and more. The bright green windows give it that perfect eerie glow!

For my second version, I decided to get a little messier! I used a combination of inks, splatters and coordinating patterned papers from the Hex Appeal bundle to create a distressed, grungy haunted-house feel. I love how the oranges, purples and blacks work together while the bright yellow-green windows really pop against the darker colors.

One die set—two totally different haunted houses! That is exactly what I love about dies like this. You can keep it clean and coordinated or pull out the inks, patterned papers and splatters and make it wonderfully creepy.

Building the Haunted House Folio — Layer by Layer

Each layer builds upon the next to create this fun Haunted House Flipbook/Folio. Before adding color or patterned paper, I like to:

  • 🤍 Die-cut and assemble each layer in white cardstock to create a visual reference.
  • 📸 Photograph each stage so I can easily remember how all those little pieces fit together.
  • 🎨 Take everything back apart and decorate each panel individually with coloring, patterned papers, and embellishments.
  • 🏠 Reassemble and permanently adhere each layer using my favorite handheld adhesive tape runners from TapeRunner.com.

This little extra planning step makes decorating a detailed project so much easier—and I have my photos to reference when it’s time to put the whole haunted house back together!

Hex Appeal August Sketch Challenge Card

My first project is squeaking in just in time for the final day of the Scrappy Boy Stamps August Sketch Challenge!

Scrappy Boy Stamps August 2026 Sketch Inspiration.

I used the Hex Appeal I Want It All Bundle to create this handsome little vampire card. The August sketch inspired the bold layout, including the vertical and horizontal cardstock strips and the large oval focal point.

Spooky Bat Mouse Halloween Card

For my second project, I paired the adorable Spooky Bat Mouse Embellishment Die with the dramatic Gothic Picture Frame.

These little bat mice are almost too cute to spook! I used bright green, purple, and black for a playful Halloween color palette and added white highlights to bring out the details in their wings and faces.

The Gothic Picture Frame creates the perfect backdrop, while the spiderweb accents, sparkly swirls, and bold BOO sentiment add extra texture and personality. The Mouse Ears alphabet dies are a cute addition and nod to the mouse! I love how the bright green border makes the entire card pop!

Glitter, white highlights, and whimsical die-cut details make these bat mice ready for Halloween.

A Little Hex Appeal + A Whole Lot of Franken-Fine!

I’m popping in with a little spooky-cute inspiration featuring the NEWEST release from Scrappy Boy Stamps — HEX APPEAL! 🎃💜💚

For this card, I also took inspiration from the Scrappy Boy Stamps August Card Sketch. There’s still a little time to play along, so grab your favorite Scrappy Boy goodies and put your own spin on the sketch!

One of my favorite things about sketches is that they take away that “where do I start?” moment. You already have the bones of the design—you just get to make it yours!

My Take on the Sketch

I stayed fairly close to the original layout, using two contrasting patterned papers for the background and bold black cardstock to recreate the strong horizontal and vertical elements.

Of course, the star had to be this adorable little Frankenstein! 💚

I placed him inside an Oval Stitched Nesting Die and gave the background a soft purple blend using my airbrush attachment from Copic to help him pop without competing with the image. A few white splatters and sparkly accents finished off the background.

And how could I resist…

“You’re Franken-Fine!” 😂

I colored my little guy with Copic markers, using bright yellow-greens for that classic Frankenstein look and deep violets and cool grays to coordinate with the Hex Appeal patterned paper.

The Hex Appeal 6×9 Paper Pack made this sketch especially fun. Mixing the green bats with the purple argyle gave me plenty of pattern and color while still allowing my stamped image to remain the focal point.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed “You’re Franken-Fine!” in white on black cardstock. The crisp white embossing against the bold black gives the sentiment plenty of contrast and ties in perfectly with the black elements from the sketch. 🖤

Beyond Christmas: Copic Airbrushing + One Stamp, So Many Celebrations!

I have a new technique obsession to share today!

I’ve been experimenting with my Copic markers and an air compressor attachment, and I LOVE the soft, blended backgrounds I can create. Even better? This technique is easy to customize simply by changing your colors.

That got me thinking about the adorable new MERRY MEOWMAS stamp set from the Pajama Crafter Stamps August Release.

Yes, it’s designed for Christmas—but who says it has to stay there?

For one card, I embraced Christmas with festive reds and greens.

Then I took the same MERRY MEOWMAS image, changed my Copic colors and added a few elements from my stash to create a Hanukkah-inspired card.

💙 🤍 💛 HANUKKAH

The air compressor attachment made it easy to coordinate each background with my Copic coloring. I simply sprayed light layers of color and gradually built the intensity until I was happy with the result.

No complicated blending—just spray, layer and have fun!

💙 Why This Project Is Personal

We are a blended family. My husband’s children from his first marriage were raised Jewish by their mom while also celebrating Christmas with us. Today, they have families of their own who continue to recognize both traditions.

That makes creating for different celebrations especially meaningful to me.

It also reminds me that our stamps don’t have to be limited by the holiday printed on the package!
